The latest addition to Disney’s quite impressive new Shorts collection has arrived and it may just be my favorite one yet. Titled Ghoul Friend, this quick little tale stars Mickey and a terrifying, rotting rendition of Goofy. The pair cross paths causing Mickey to panic and flee, but there may be more to Zombie Goofy than his ghoulish appearance. The entire short is featured below for your viewing pleasure!
Personally, I’ve been in love with these new Disney shorts. They are wonderfully fresh amidst the glut of CGI animation that seems to be everywhere you turn while managing to retain a sense of nostalgia for the Disney shorts of yore. Though these seem to also be done primarily with computers, there is at least an appreciation for traditional animation techniques displayed by the artwork. I hope there are many more of these to come.
