We here at Animation Fascination are pretty excited for Pixar’s 14th feature film, (and the prequel to Monsters, Inc) Monsters University. At this point we still haven’t seen much from the film  besides the first teaser trailer attached to Brave last summer and the viral college ad. But that’s about to change on February 19th.

Included on the new Monsters, Inc. 3D Blu-ray we finally get a better look at the film’s storyline, along with some new concept art and animation. The whole thing is hosted by the film’s director Dan Scanlon, who also wrote Pixar’s Cars and co-directed Mater and the Ghostlight.

Here’s a brief synopsis of the film:

“Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.”

The film opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2013, and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.
