It’s been known for some time that Pete Docter, director of the Pixar’s Academy Award winning UP, has been hard at work on his next Pixar production. Much like many Hollywood projects nowadays, it even already has a tentative release date of July 19, 2015. What no one knew was what it would be called.
Pixar takes audiences on incredible journeys into extraordinary worlds: from the darkest depths of the ocean to the top of the tepui mountains in South America; from the fictional metropolis of Monstropolis to a futuristic fantasy of outer space. From director Pete Docter (Up, Monsters, Inc.) and producer Jonas Rivera (Up), the inventive new film will take you to a place that everyone knows, but no one has ever seen: the world inside the human mind.
Not only does this sound like an incredibly intriguing idea (and also a lot like one of my favorite TV shows as a young lad, Herman’s Head), but it will also be Pixar’s second feature with a female lead.
So what do you guys think? When we hear the words Pixar we all get very excited. Personally I think this has potential to be some intriguing storytelling.
