Disney announced today the creation of 19 new animated shorts starring none other than Mickey Mouse himself. Today, Disney.com is offering a sneak peek of one the shorts, Croissant de Triomphe. Set in Paris, the short has Mickey saving the day by delivering croissants across town to a stressed out Minnie. Look out for cameos from other Disney characters and icons in the cartoon, too.
Produced by Walt Disney Television Animation, the new 2D animated shorts will be shown on Disney Channel, Disney.com and the WATCH Disney Channel mobile app beginning June 28.
According to the Walt Disney Company’s official blog:
“Each cartoon finds Mickey in a different setting including Santa Monica, New York, Paris, Beijing, Tokyo, Venice and the Alps, facing a silly situation, a quick complication and an escalation of physical and visual gags. The stories also feature heartfelt and heroic moments as Mickey experiences life with Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto.”
Executive producer and director of the new shorts is Paul Rudish, who has been involved with some of the greats from Cartoon Network, including Dexter’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Sym-biotic Titan.
