Angry Birds Toons, the new animated series based on the hit mobile app game, has started its world-wide rollout. The series is now available to watch via the actual Angry Birds mobile app—just look for the “Toons” channel button in the updated version of the app.

In the U.S., the show is also available on Comcast video platforms, including Xfinity on Demand, the Xfinity TV Player mobile app, and on the Xfinity.com/tv website. In Canada, the show has been picked up by Teletoon cable channel and will be broadcast on Saturday mornings. The show is also being distributed internationally by multiple third-party distribution platforms.

Rovio Entertainment, the maker of the game and producer of the new series, is creating  52 episodes of the show. A new episode of Angry Birds Toons will be released each week. According to the press release:

“We’ve long wanted to tell our fans the story of the Angry Birds and the Bad Piggies, to introduce their personalities and their world in detail.” said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio.

“We’re delighted to introduce all this through our new channel, with easy and instant access to the stories in the palm of your hand. With over 1.7 billion downloads, we can reach a far wider and more engaged global audience than traditional distribution would allow. Launching the channel, and partnering up with some of the best video-on-demand providers and TV networks, is an important milestone for us on our journey towards becoming a fully fledged entertainment powerhouse.”
