Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has been churning out the feature-length animated films based on DC Comics at a regular clip all year-long with Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 and the upcoming Superman: Unbound, and the next DC Animated Universe feature will be based on the popular 2011 Flashpoint comic book event by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert, which was the much-publicized story that essentially ended 75 years of DC Comics continuity and led to the New 52 Comic line re-launch.
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox stars The Flash, who, in trying to change a personal tragedy in his past, accidentally creates a time paradox which erases
the world he knows and leaves in its wake a twisted version, where Bruce Wayne is dead and Thomas Wayne is the Batman, Wonder Woman and the Amazons are at war with Aquaman and the Atlanteans, and Superman was found by the government, and not the Kents, and he was raised in a containment cell on a military base to be used as a weapon.
The film features the voicework of Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Ron Perlman as Deathstroke, Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman, and Dana Delaney returns to voice Lois Lane. There is no official word on any other voice casting as of this writing.
WB decided to add the Justice League moniker to the official title, possibly to give the film a “Justice League-family of stories” identity. The official release date was
announced and Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and On-Demand on July 30, 2013.
