Comedy Central is bringing its animated programming to San Diego Comic-Con in a big way next week. It is also taping a one-hour comedy special with comedian and actor Patton Oswalt in San Diego during the convention. Check out the details after the jump…

- Creators and executive producers Waco O’Guin and Roger Black and others involved with the series will be at Comic-Con to premiere a new episode from the upcoming second season (the new episode will debut on Comedy Central on Tuesday, September 3 at 10:30pm ET/PT). A Q&A panel discussion will follow.

- To celebrate the show’s “latest and greatest final season,” creator Matt Groening, executive producer David X. Cohen and most, if not all, of the series’ voice cast will be in attendance, including Billy West, John DiMaggio, Katey Sagal, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Lauren Tom and Phil LaMarr. The cast will perform never-before-heard scenes from the upcoming “Last Episode Ever.” There will also be a “cartooning showdown to the death!” Sounds like this one is not to be missed for Futurama fans.

- Comedy Central will be taping a new comedy special with the outspoken and awesome Patton Oswalt (@pattonoswalt). (Patton was also the voice of Remy from Pixar’s 2007 film Ratatouille.) Patton will be doing two shows. To purchase tickets, go to the Spreckels Theater website.
