D23 Expo 2013 Animation Presentation Promises Sneak Peeks and Major Movie Announcements

D23 Expo 2013

The Walt Disney Studios has announced that John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Disney and Pixar, will host an animation-centric presentation at Disney’s upcoming D23 Expo 2013. The presentation will take place at 10:00 a.m. PDT on Friday, August 9, 2013 in the arena of the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.

The presentation, entitled “Art and Imagination: Animation at The Walt Disney Studios,” will highlight the upcoming slate of films from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios and Disneytoon Studios.

According to the D23 Expo website:

“Disney and Pixar Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter, filmmakers and star talent will take guests on a journey through The Walt Disney Studios’ slate of upcoming animated features, including Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen and Pixar Animation Studios’ The Good Dinosaur. Plus, catch the U.S. debut of the new Mickey Mouse short ‘Get A Horse!’, major movie announcements, and a not-to-be-missed live musical performance.”

The presentation will take place in the arena building of the Anaheim Convention Center, which seats 4,000 people. The D23 folks are also adding a new feature this year—a 2,000-seat overflow space where D23 Expo guests who are unable to get into the arena can watch the arena presentations through a live television feed. (This is a very welcome change—the limited capacity and giant crowds at the D23 Expo 2011 made trying to get into the arena a total nightmare.)

The D23 Expo 2013 runs from August 9 -11. Tickets are required and can be purchased at www.D23Expo.com.
