Are you getting stoked for next week’s D23 Expo 2013? We are! One of the myriad of cool things happening there will be the North American debut of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ new short Get a Horse!. The short will be screened during the “Art and Imagination: Animation at The Walt Disney Studios” arena presentation with John Lasseter at 10 a.m. PT, Friday, August 9 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.
Disney just released two new images of animation cells from the short showing Mickey, Minnie and Peg-Leg Pete. The Disney Insider blog states:
“The black-and-white, hand-drawn short features Walt Disney himself as the voice of Mickey Mouse. The story follows Mickey, his favorite gal pal, Minnie, and their friends Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow. The gang is enjoying a musical hay wagon ride…until Peg-Leg Pete shows up and tries to run them off the road.”
While we’ve been talking about the short for a while, it’s great to see more artwork and to get a few more details. We can’t wait to see it. Get a Horse! is rumored to play in front of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 53rd animated motion picture Frozen which opens in U.S. theaters November 27, 2013.
