The Walt Disney Studios has announced that it will be the U.S. distributor for Studio Ghibli’s latest film The Wind Rises. No opening date has been announced. The film will make its North American debut at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
Disney has previously released English-dubbed versions of multiple films from Studio Ghibli in the U.S., including Ponyo, The Secret World of Arrietty, Howl’s Moving Castle and Spirited Away. The last Studio Ghibli release, From Up on Poppy Hill, was distributed in the U.S. by GKIDS Films.
