Pixar Receives Dartmouth Film Award and Tribute

The Hopkins Center For The Arts At Dartmouth College Presents "A Tribute To Pixar"

Over the weekend, the Dartmouth Film Society based out of Dartmouth College awarded Pixar Animation Studios with its Dartmouth Film Award. Established in 1979, the Dartmouth Film Award honors outstanding contributors to the world of film and filmmaking. Other recipients include Robert Redford, Johnny Depp, Ken Burns, and Meryl Streep, among others.

The presentation of the Dartmouth Film Award took place in the Spaulding Auditorium on the Dartmouth College campus on Sunday, October 13. The event included the screening of a 40-minute compilation reel of great moments from Pixar films and the screening of additional filmed segments based on Monsters University (“Monthropology,” “Scare Games,” and “Paths to Pixar”).

Sulley Dartmouth

On hand to accept the award for Pixar were Monsters University director Dan Scanlon and producer Kori Rae. A walk-around Sulley character was also there for the weekend attending the presentation, going to the Dartmouth vs. Yale football game (Dartmouth won 20-13), and just being the big monster on campus.

Congratulations to our friends at Pixar Animation Studios for receiving this prestigious honor.

Monsters University is now available for digital download and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD October 29, 2013.
