We ran across this incredibly cool two-minute animated short film on EW.com that encapsulates the complete history of Superman. From his start in Action Comics, to George Reeves’ TV interpretation, to Christopher Reeve, Smallville, and finally Man of Steel, along with everything in between, this is a fun and fast-moving tribute to the beloved super hero.
Man of Steel director Zach Snyder and DC animation guru Bruce Timm put the short together in honor of Superman’s 75th birthday celebration. The short is chock-full of details for Superman fans to discover and enjoy. However, given Superman’s influence on pop culture for all of these years, they of course couldn’t include everything. Bruce Timm told EW.com, “There was just too much stuff. So we tried to put in little nods, even if only in the background.”
The short will be included on the Blu-ray release of Man of Steel, due out November 12, 2013.
