The great Disney blog StitchKingdom.com has published the new U.S. teaser poster for Studio Ghibli’s latest film The Wind Rises.
The film, which had a one week run from November 8-14, 2013 in New York and Los Angeles in order to qualify for this year’s Academy Awards nominations, will open in limited release in the U.S. on February 21, 2014 and in wide release on February 28, 2014. The Walt Disney Studios, who has U.S. distribution rights for the film, will release it under their Touchstone Pictures banner.
The Wind Rises tells the story of the designer of the Japanese Zero fighter planes used in World War II. It is the last film to be directed by beloved animation director Hayao Miyazaki, who has recently announced his retirement from directing full-length feature films.
