The 2014 Critics’ Choice Awards ceremony took place this week in Los Angeles. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen took home the award for Best Animated Film at the ceremony. “Let It Go” from Frozen took home the award for Best Song.
In the Best Animated Film category, the other nominated films were The Croods, Despicable Me 2, Monsters University (finally, a well-deserved nomination for one of our favorites of 2013), and The Wind Rises.
In the Best Song category, “Let It Go” by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez was up against some heavy hitters including “Atlas” by Coldplay (from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), “ Happy” by Pharrell Williams (from Despicable Me 2 ), “Ordinary Love” by U2 (from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom ), “Please Mr. Kennedy” by Justin Timberlake, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver (from Inside Llewyn Davis) and “ Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey (from The Great Gatsby).
A complete list of all of the winners can be found on the Critics’ Choice Awards website.
The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards are presented annually by the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA), which represents over 280 television, radio and online critics.
