Pixar fans rejoice! It looks like the 2014 animation slate will not be Pixar-free after all. Pixar Animation Studios and ABC have released details on another Toy Story holiday TV special currently in production that will be broadcast in late 2014. This time, Pixar is putting the beloved Toy Story characters in a Christmas story entitled Toy Story That Time Forgot.
Here’s the official synopsis:
During a post-Christmas play date, the ‘Toy Story’ gang finds themselves in uncharted territory when the coolest set of action figures ever turn out to be dangerously delusional. It’s all up to Trixie, the triceratops, if the gang hopes to return to Bonnie’s room.
Directed by Steve Purcell (Brave, Cars, Mater and the Ghostlight), the TV special has all of the Toy Story voice cast returning, including Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Don Rickles as Mr. Potato Head, Wallace Shawn as Rex, Kristen Schaal as Trixie, and Timothy Dalton as Mr. Pricklepants. Also announced for the project is Kevin McKidd, who will be the voice of a new character named Reptillus Maximus.
No scheduling information was released, but it is safe to assume that the TV special will most likely air sometime in late November or early December 2014.
