We learned a few months ago that John Kahrs, director of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Oscar winning short film Paperman, signed with the William Morris Entertainment (WME) Agency and left Disney. Well, now we know where’s he’s landed.
Kahrs will direct a new animated feature film for Paramount Pictures entitled Shedd. The screenwriter of Shedd is Tripper Clancy, based on an original concept by Adam Goodman, president of the Paramount Film Group. No other information about the project has been made available.
With the announcement, it appears that Paramount is getting serious about creating their own in-house animation studio. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
