After playing the film festival circuit, the highly acclaimed hand-drawn 2D animated feature Ernest & Celestine is beginning its first-run distribution in U.S. theaters this month. The film will debut in Los Angeles on February 28 and in New York City on March 14 with a national expansion to follow in the upcoming weeks.
In Los Angeles, the film will begin its run at the historic Landmark Theater where it will be exhibited in both the original French language version and a new English language dub. On March 1, director Benjamin Renner and producer Didier Brunner will appear in person at the Landmark Theater for a question and answer session after the 4:00 p.m. screening and will be on hand to introduce the 6:15 p.m. screening of the film. The English language dub features the voices of Forest Whitaker, Mackenzie Foy, Lauren Bacall, Paul Giamatti, William H. Macy, Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman and Jeffrey Wright.
