Disney Channel has finally announced the premiere date of the new Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars special. The show will premiere Saturday, July 26th, at 9:00 p.m. on Disney Channel (check your local listings). It will then be re-aired on Aug. 4th at 7:30 p.m. (again, check your local listings) on Disney X-D along with a preview of the upcoming Star Wars Rebels animated series as part of a new Star Wars programming block.
As previously reported, the special will be “set a few summers ago in a galaxy far, far away,” finding Phineas and Ferb in “a parallel universe during Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.” Classic Star Wars characters, including Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2-D2, and Darth Vader will be in the special. Phineas and Ferb creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh will make cameos as themselves.
Newly announced, the voice cast includes actor Simon Pegg as the voice of C-3PO (which we all think is awesome) and MythBusters’ Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman as members of the evil Empire.
A preview of Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars will be available via the Disney Channel WATCH app beginning July 19th. May the Ferb be with you!
