We love the incredible and highly collectible posters, shirts, and other fantastic items from Mondo. The talented folks there have outdone themselves again by introducing a new collectible toy line which will debut this week at the Mondo booth (#835) at San Diego Comic-Con.
Mondo has created two items from Brad Bird’s brilliant feature film The Iron Giant as part of their debut into the collectible toy market. There is a 16-inch highly articulated replica of the Iron Giant himself as well as a 6-inch bolt prop from the film. The Iron Giant toy will have 30 points of articulation and includes lights, accessory pieces of scrap metal, a gun (for his war transformation), an “S” insignia, as well as an accompanying Hovarth figure.
In addition to the Iron Giant items, Mondo is also releasing two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collectible figures: a Lil Mikey Vinyl Figure, reproducing Mike Mitchell’s chibi-style Michelangelo design, and The First Turtle, an early “joke” design from co-creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
A final item in the collection is a 1/6 scale figure of director Alfred Hitchcock, which includes a director’s chair, cigars, props, interchangeable props and hands.
No pricing has been announced. Make sure to follow the Mondo Twitter account for the latest updates and to learn when the items will go on sale.
