DreamWorks Animation took to Hall H at this year’s San Diego Comic-Com to show off their upcoming slate of feature films. Craig Ferguson was the moderator for the panel, which included peeks at The Penguins of Madagascar and Home.
According to the Los Angeles Times, “the main attraction wasn’t cuddly extraterrestrials or adorable penguins: it was actor Benedict Cumberbatch.” The Sherlock star voices a secret agent wolf named Agent Classified in the Madagascar spin-off. Clearly DreamWorks made a great casting choice if the crowd response in Hall H was any indication.
Also making his first San Diego Comic-Con appearance was John Malkovich, who plays villainous octopus Dr. Octavius Brine in the film.
DreamWorks’ B.O.O. (Bureau of Otherworldly Operations) was also mentioned at the panel, but no footage was shown.
The Penguins of Madagascar opens in U.S. theaters on November 26th, 2014, Home opens in U.S. theaters on March 27th, 2015, and B.O.O opens in U.S. theaters on June 5th, 2015.
