Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon have released a new trailer for the upcoming live-action/hybrid animated film The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. The trailer is on the Paramount Pictures UK YouTube channel and also on Nick.com.
Produced by Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon, the film has SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick, and the gang in both 2D and 3D animation. The 2D animated segments look just like the TV series. And, as you’ll see in the trailer, the 3D animated gang goes all Smurfs-like by turning into CG characters interacting in the human world. It also looks like they take super serum at some point in the film as well, because they go all super hero at the end of the trailer.
The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water is directed by Paul Tibbitt. The film opens in U.S. theaters on February 6th, 2015.
