Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have announced that a new Justice League animated series is in development that is being created exclusively for the Machinima video entertainment network. The series entitled Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles is currently in production and will be released in 2015.
The new series is based on the upcoming DC original animated film Justice League: Gods and Monsters, which is being produced by Bruce Timm and co-produced by Alan Burnett. Chronicles will focus on alternate versions of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.
Machinima states that “Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles explores a newly conceived reality in the DC Universe where Justice League members Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are much darker versions of the Super Heroes that people think they know.”
The episodes are expected to debut on Machinima in the spring of 2015, weeks before the launch of the film. It’s the first major programming development for Machinima since Warner Bros. made a significant investment in the network.
