Five animated features have been nominated for this year’s Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film. Here are the nominees with links to the films’ official websites or Facebook pages.

Big Hero 6 (Walt Disney Animation Studios; Don Hall, Chris Williams and Roy Conli)
The Boxtrolls (LAIKA; Anthony Stacchi, Graham Annable and Travis Knight)
How to Train Your Dragon 2 (DreamWorks Animation; Dean Deblois and Bonnie Arnold)
Song of the Sea (Cartoon Saloon; Tomm Moore and Paul Young)
The Tale of Princess Kaguya (Studio Ghibli; Isao Takahata and Yoshiaki Nishimura)

It’s great that films using many different varieties of animation (CG, stop-motion, and hand-drawn) were nominated.

A big glaring hole in the lineup is the exclusion of Warner Bros. mega-hit animated film The LEGO Movie. Co-director of the film Phil Lord had this to say about it on his Twitter feed. Though the film is represented in the BEST ORIGINAL SONG category for “Everything is Awesome.”
