File this in the “For What It’s Worth” department, but an interesting story passed our desk recently and we are now passing along to you. According to The Tracking Board, Paramount Pictures is developing a live-action/animated mega film that features characters from many beloved Nickelodeon cartoons from the 1990s all in one picture, including Hey Arnold!, Rugrats, Ren and Stimpy, Rocko’s Modern Life, and The Angry Beavers, among others.

This new mashup film is rumored to be called Nicktoons. The Tracking Board states that producer Mary Parent is attached to the project along with producer Cale Boyter who together run Disruption Entertainment (which has an established production deal with Paramount). A search for a screenwriter is supposedly underway.

The Tracking Board refers to this Nicktoons project as following in the footsteps as such other successful crossover-animated films as Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The LEGO Movie, and Wreck-It Ralph.

While we’ll believe it when we see it, the project does sound like it could be a lot of fun. Here’s to hoping that Doug Funnie and Patti Mayonnaise make an appearance, too. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

(Also, if you’re a fan of the Nicktoons programming check out our past episode of the podcast – Episode 42.)
