Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 55th animated motion picture Zootopia opens in one month from today on March 4th. To celebrate, we’ve got three new clips from the film.
First up is a brand new clip with bunny Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) riding a train into the heart of Zootopia city (with background music provided by Shakira, the voice of Zootopia’s biggest pop star Gazelle, singing “Try Everything”).
Next is a clip with Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) and Judy Hopps who might be in a little over their heads with the Tundratown mob.
And, finally, here is a clip which has already been making the rounds, but it’s a good one. It’s Zootopia chief of police Chief Bogo (voiced by Idris Elba) acknowledging, well, the elephant in the room.
Here are some other fun Zootopia facts to get you excited for the film.
- Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino wrote the Zootopia score. Although he’s worked on many great films for Pixar Animation Studios, including The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up, and Inside Out, this is his first collaboration with the filmmakers at Walt Disney Animation Studios.
- The song “Try Everything” was written by singer-songwriter Sia and the songwriting-producing duo Stargate.
- Directors Byron Howard and Rich Moore both have directed films that were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film Academy Award. Howard directed Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 2008 feature Bolt, and Moore directed Disney’s 2012’s film Wreck-It Ralph. Zootopia producer Clark Spencer produced both of these films as well.
- The stellar voice cast for the film includes the previously mentioned Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin, Shakira, and Idris Elba along with J.K. Simmons, Nate Torrence, Jenny Slate, Tommy Chong, Octavia Spencer, Bonnie Hunt, Don Lake, Alan Tudyk, Tommy “Tiny” Lister, Raymond Persi, Katie Lowes, Jesse Corti, and John DiMaggio.
And here’s the film’s official synopsis:
The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery.
Zootopia opens in U.S. theaters in 3D on March 4th. Make sure to check out the film’s official website and like the film on Facebook.
