Animation Has Begun on Pixar’s ‘Coco’

It’s official (at least from the film’s director): animation has started on Coco, Pixar Animation Studios’ upcoming feature film centered around the Dia de los Muertos (or Day of the Dead).

Director Lee Unkrich took to his Twitter feed (@leeunkrich) to make the happy announcement.

So excited that we've OFFICIALLY STARTED ANIMATION ON COCO!! 💀

Also on Lee Unkrich’s Twitter feed is the introduction of the film’s character designer Daniel Arriaga.

We can’t wait! Coco opens in U.S. theaters on November 22nd, 2017.
