Blue Sky Studios has released a trailer for their upcoming animated feature Ferdinand.
Here’s the official summary:
Ferdinand tells the story of a giant bull with a big heart. After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure. Set in Spain, Ferdinand proves you can’t judge a bull by its cover.
A new poster has been revealed, too.
You might recognize this story from the Walt Disney-produced animated short Ferdinand the Bull from 1938. The Disney short was based on the 1936 childrens’ book The Story of Ferdinand by American author Munro Leaf. (It appears that this feature length version is also based on the book, but time will tell.)
The film is directed by Blue Sky Studios veteran Carlos Saldanha. Voice cast includes wrestling superstar John Cena as Ferdinand and also Kate McKinnon, Gina Rodriguez, Daveed Diggs, Gabriel Iglesias, Bobby Cannavale, David Tennant, Anthony Anderson, Flula Borg, Sally Phillips, Boris Kodjoe, Jerrod Carmichael, Raúl Esparza, Karla Martínez, and Miguel Ángel Silvestre.
Ferdinand opens in U.S. theaters on December 15th. Connect with Ferdinand on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the film’s official website.
I’m not that excited about this, to be honest.
