‘Batman: Mask of the Phantasm’ Coming Soon to Blu-ray

Fan-favorite feature Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) is finally getting the HD treatment.

According to Amazon.com, the film will be available on Blu-ray July 25th.

Here’s the official summary:

When the city’s most feared gangsters are systematically eliminated, the Caped Crusader is blamed. But prowling the Gotham night is a shadowy new villain, the Phantasm, a sinister figure with some link to Batman’s past. Can the Dark Knight elude the police, capture the Phantasm and clear his own name? Unmasking the Phantasm is just one of the twists in this dazzling animated feature. Discover revelations about Batman’s past, his archrival the Joker and Batman’s most grueling battle ever — the choice between his love for a beautiful woman and his vow to be the defender of right.

The disc will contain a 1080p HD remaster of the film and will include the original aspect ratio of 16:9 (1.78:1) along with an open matte aspect ratio of 4:3 (1.37:1). Sound mix is DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0. Subtitles are in English SDH.

Directed by Eric Radomski and Bruce Timm, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm features the voice talent of Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker, along with Efrem Zimbalist Jr. as Alfred, Dana Delany as Andrea Beaumont, and Stacy Keach as Carl Beaumont/Phantasm.
