Writer and Additional Producer Named for ‘Angry Birds’ Feature Film

Rovio Entertainment has announced that Jon Vitti will be the writer of the new Angry Birds CG animated comedy feature film currently under development. Vitti has an extensive Hollywood resume in both TV and film, serving as writer on Saturday Night Live, The Critic, The Larry Sanders Show, King of the Hill, Da Ali G Show, The Simpsons and The Office, along with being the screenwriter of The Simpsons Movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.

‘Angry Birds’ Feature Film to Be Distributed Worldwide by Sony

Rovio Entertainment has selected Sony Pictures Entertainment as their global marketing and distribution partner for the new Angry Birds animated motion picture currently under development. The 3D animated comedy will be released worldwide by Sony Pictures on July 1, 2016. David Maisel (Iron Man) has been named as executive producer for the film along with John Cohen (Despicable Me) as producer.
