New character bios and a new trailer have been released for Disneytoon Studios’ upcoming sequel Planes: Fire and Rescue. The Disney Insider blog has the scoop on all of the new characters in the film.
As introduced in August at the D23 Expo 2013, Disneytoon Studios’ sequel to Planes titled Planes: Fire and Rescue now has an official teaser trailer.
John Lasseter, Disney’s chief creative officer, announced new films today coming from Disneytoon Studios, Disney’s direct-to-video division during his epic “Art and Imagination: Animation at The Walt Disney Studios” presentation Friday, August 9 at the D23 Expo 2013. First up were two new films from Disneytoon’s Fairies label: The Legend of the Neverbeast and The Pirate Fairy followed by a sneak peek at 2014’s Planes sequel Planes: Fire and Rescue.
Disney has released a new video of DisneyToon Studios’ upcoming feature Planes entitled “Planes Takes Flight,” which showcases the film’s impressive animation and beautiful soundtrack music. Although the voice cast has been previously announced the clip has no dialogue in it, only new music composed by Mark Mancina (Tarzan, Brother Bear). Check it out and let us know what you think.

USA Today gave an exclusive peek yesterday of Planes, the upcoming feature film from DisneyToon Studios. The article included quotes from the filmmakers along with pictures of characters from the film and the actors who will be voicing them.
Some casting news today from both Disney and Blue Sky Studios for their films Planes and Rio 2 respectively. Recently we posted a trailer to Disney’s Planes and at the time we were unsure who would be replacing Jon Cryer as the film’s main protagonist, Dusty Crophopper. Well today Disney has announced that Dane Cook has been tapped to now voice the lead character.
