Make way for Prince Ali on your shelves and hard drives–The Walt Disney Studios has released a slightly revised schedule for the upcoming Diamond Edition release of Aladdin.
Our friends at The Walt Disney Studios reminded us that this is the final weekend for a couple of great promotions they have been running with their terrific Disney Movies Anywhere app.
There is so much about the newest teaser from Pixar that has me happily reminiscing of the 90’s Disney films. The mystique and general feelings of wonder as to what this film is going to be along with the behind-the-scenes footage of work in progress brings me back to the glorious days of pencil-test trailers.
If we can’t have a new Pixar movie this summer, at least we’ll be getting some potentially cool marketing materials from the studio. Pixar Animation Studios has joined forces with the new Disney Movies Anywhere app for Pixar Summer Movies to Go, providing users of the service with 13 weeks of fun with Pixar’s current animated feature film library.
Lightning McQueen, Mater, and all of your favorite Cars characters have returned again to the small screen. Radiator Springs 500 1/2, a new “Tales from Radiator Springs” short, is now available for your viewing pleasure exclusively on the Disney Movies Anywhere website and Apple iOS app.
Pixar has a cool little video up on the new Disney Movies Anywhere app showcasing one of the neat things about their films that had thus far gone on without much official commentary from them. The famous “Easter-eggs” Pixar has hidden throughout their films are as much fan favorites as staying until the two post-credit scenes in a Marvel flick. From A113 to the Pizza Planet truck, (even in Brave!) some of us have been watching out for these “Easter-eggs” for a long time now.
Pixar Animation Studios has a brand new Cars short coming soon to the just released Disney Movies Anywhere app. The short will be a new episode in the ongoing Tales from Radiator Springs series. Called The Radiator Springs 500 1/2, the short tells the story of how a bunch of Baja racers come to Radiator Springs and challenge Lightning McQueen to a race.
Site columnist Jessica Wersky joins Marc to catch up on and discuss all the latest animation news. This episode is full of Disney properties with a dash of DreamWorks and Reel FX.
News discussed this episode: Frozen joining the one billion dollars club at the box office as well as winning the Oscar for best animated feature and a possible ride we’d like to see built at Disney World/Disneyland. Star Wars Rebels character profiles, and a possible new Shrek film in the future.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen is now available for purchase on Digital HD (the Blu-ray and on-demand versions will be released on March 18th). Included in the download (and also on the Blu-ray) is a new behind-the-scenes bonus feature called “The Making of Frozen” starring three of the film’s voice actors: Josh Gad (Olaf), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff), and Kristen Bell (Anna).
