Disney Television Animation is preparing a DuckTales reboot for our viewing pleasure. The new animated series will debut in the summer of 2017 on Disney X-D. As an early Christmas present, Disney is giving us a sneak peek on Friday, December 9th.

Disney Junior’s animated series The Lion Guard now has its first DVD. It’s the series’ origin story called Return of the Roar.

ASIFA-Hollywood announced today the nominations for its 41st Annual Annie Awards. With 30 award categories that encompass animation production, individual achievement, and juried awards, the Annie Awards honor and recognize the year’s best animation in film, TV, and commercials.

Disney Channel Renews ‘Gravity Falls’

Good news for fans of Dipper, Mable and Grunkle Stan–Disney Channel has announced that the hit series Gravity Falls has been renewed for a second season. Created by Alex Hirsch (The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Fish Hooks), the show has become television’s number one animated series according to Nielsen with kids ages 2-11 and 6-12 along with tweens ages 9-14.

New Mickey Mouse Cartoon Shorts Debut on Disney Channel

Disney is rolling out their new 2D Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts series on Disney Channel starting the weekend of June 28-30, 2013 (8:30 p.m. ET/PT). Disney gave us a sneak peek of the series last March with the short “Croissant de Triomphe”. Now available for viewing on Disney.com is a brand new short called “No Service”. New shorts will be premiering every Friday through July. The shorts will also be available to view on the WATCH Disney Channel mobile app, iTunes, and a new “Mickey Video Player” mobile app (which we haven’t been able to find yet, at least not on the Apple App Store) after their Disney Channel premieres.
