Donald Duck, our favorite irascible web-footed friend, is celebrating his 81st birthday today. He made his debut in Walt Disney’s Silly Symphony short The Wise Little Hen in 1934 and he’s been making us laugh ever since.
Happy Halloween boys and ghouls!

As though my childhood was not awesome enough thanks to the annual mind-blowing feature-length films Disney released, a little thing called the Disney Afternoon came out in 1990 that seriously rocked my after-school world. Featuring four half-hour blocks of cartoons, the Disney Afternoon ran on network television in select markets across the country for seven years and DuckTales, a ground-breaking series for future Disney spinoffs, starring Scrooge McDuck and Donald Duck’s nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie, ran during the first two seasons. The series enjoyed considerable success and continues to be considered a classic cartoon among animation fans.
Walt Disney World is promoting their annual “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” event with a cool new 2D animated short starring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck. Available for viewing on the Disney Parks YouTube channel the short was created by Disney’s Yellow Shoes Creative Group. Check it out after the jump…
Disney is rolling out their new 2D Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts series on Disney Channel starting the weekend of June 28-30, 2013 (8:30 p.m. ET/PT). Disney gave us a sneak peek of the series last March with the short “Croissant de Triomphe”. Now available for viewing on Disney.com is a brand new short called “No Service”. New shorts will be premiering every Friday through July. The shorts will also be available to view on the WATCH Disney Channel mobile app, iTunes, and a new “Mickey Video Player” mobile app (which we haven’t been able to find yet, at least not on the Apple App Store) after their Disney Channel premieres.
Disney announced today the creation of 19 new animated shorts starring none other than Mickey Mouse himself. Today, Disney.com is offering a sneak peek of one the shorts, Croissant de Triomphe. Set in Paris, the short has Mickey saving the day by delivering croissants across town to a stressed out Minnie. Look out for cameos from other Disney characters and icons in the cartoon, too.
