Some art has been circulating online which appears to be a cover of an upcoming Walter Foster Learn to Draw book for DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming animated feature B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations.

So, as much as I have always loved comics, cartoons and everything related to the world of being a nerd, generally, I have never attended or paid much attention to the many, varying comic conventions that are so popular these days. Maybe because I haven’t lived in SOCAL that long, but I now realize how incredibly out of the loop I am. In researching what, in relation to animation, this year’s Comic-Con has to offer, I have been bowled over by all the cool exhibits, guests and products available to the 130,000 fans that managed to get tickets to this exclusive event. I went online to try to pick up a ticket for Sunday because I am off work, but apparently I need to locate the Doctor about traveling back in time, since they are all long sold-out.
In this AF News special covering all the latest from around the animation industry during the month of June, Marc Vibbert is joined once again by Stanford Clark and Jon Hueber.
They also boldly go were many have gone before to discuss Star Trek: The Animated Series as part of Animation Fascination’s Sci-Fi month!
Also Discussed: live-action Frozen cast announced for Once Upon a Time, leaked Big Hero 6 posters, DreamWorks Animation layoffs, Enchanted sequel announcement, Glen Keane’s short Duet, and much, much more …

On June 30th, some animation blogs leaked news that DreamWorks was laying off 40-50 people from their feature animation staff, saying “the studio didn’t have enough features requiring staff building front-end production elements, so employees in departments that were overstaffed were laid off and their contracts…paid out.” Of course, since How to Train Your Dragon 2 isn’t raking in the dough as heftily as many hoped/predicted, it leads to talk as to what this will mean for the future of DreamWorks animation and if our lovable Toothless is somehow to blame.
In this bewilderbeast-sized episode Marc is joined by Tom Fonss, Jessica Wersky, and the prodigal son himself Matt Quest.
Matt catches us up on what he’s been up to for the past six months as Tom and Jessica assist Marc in our How to Train Your Dragon 2 roundtable discussion. Special guests Jessie Forer and Jennifer Harlow hop on to talk about their favorite parts of the film and share some insight into their work on it as well.
Also Discussed: a whole gaggle of Blu-ray, DVD, and book reviews about – Doctor Who, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ernest and Celestine, Alexander, and The Nutty Professor.

DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg announced this week at the 2014 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, that DreamWorks had acquired the rights to the classic animated character Felix the Cat for an undisclosed amount.
