Disney’s Legacy Collection CDs Are a Must-Have for Music and Film Collectors
Walt Disney Records has begun rolling out their newly created line of collectible CDs entitled Walt Disney Records The Legacy Collection. Starting first with Disney’s The Lion King, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, 15 new CD sets of classic Disney film and theme park music have been announced to be released through 2015 with hopefully more to be announced in the future.

A Fascinating Day In Animation History: Walt Disney’s ‘Fantasia’ (1940)
Seventy-three years ago today, Walt Disney Productions released their third Animated Feature, Fantasia. I didn’t realize that this film was so closely released after Snow White and Pinocchio—in fact it was released the same year as Pinocchio! There are so many remarkable things about this film, which was initially a bomb in the box office, but which has gone on to be the 22nd in the US (when adjusted for inflation). It initially had mixed critical reviews, but today has a Fresh rating of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Selick Admits to Industry Challenges at SIGGRAPH
SIGGRAPH 2013 is well underway in Anaheim, CA, and Monday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented a keynote panel, which included many of feature animations best and brightest.
