Review: Disney Animation’s Beautiful ‘Short Films Collection’ Is a Must-Own for Fans

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ new Short Films Collection is truly a stunner. The collection, which is now available on Digital HD platforms and will be available on Blu-ray August 18th, includes 12 of the studios’ animated short films made between the years 2000–2015. While some shorts are fairly new and have been recently seen in theaters, other titles are older and more obscure. Overall, it’s just great to have all of these beloved shorts in one combined and winsome collection.

Review: ‘Big Hero 6’ on Digital HD

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 54th animated motion picture Big Hero 6 is now available on all major digital download platforms. I got a copy on iTunes and watched the film and the bonus features using the Disney Movies Anywhere app on my iPhone 5S. I’m happy to report that the film is still just as great on the small screen as it was on the big screen (my original review is here) and the bonus features, although a bit sparse, are beautifully produced, entertaining, and informational.

Disney Releases Title and Art from New ‘Feast’ Short

Walt Disney Animation Studios announced their new animated short that will play in front of Big Hero 6 this November. The new short film is entitled Feast. It tells the story of “one man’s love life as seen through the eyes of his best friend and dog, Winston, and revealed bite by bite through the meals they share.” The film’s title treatment and a first image were released on the Disney Insider blog and on many of Disney’s various social media platforms.
