LAIKA‘s new animated feature The Boxtrolls opens this weekend on September 26th. The official soundtrack to the film became available on CD and digital download yesterday on September 23rd and it’s rather cool.
LAIKA and Focus Features are sponsoring a new “Cardboard Challenge” contest in conjunction with upcoming opening of The Boxtrolls. They want kids of all ages around the world to create something creative out of cardboard and then post a picture of their creation on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #TheBoxtrollsCC.
Stop Motion Magazine got to do something very cool and finally were able to publish the tale. They went on a behind-the-scenes set tour at LAIKA in Portland, Oregon to watch the filmmakers work on their upcoming feature The BoxTrolls.
If you’re a fan of us here at Animation Fascination, than you know that we have a deep love and appreciation for Laika; the animation company who, along with Focus Features, brought us 2009’s Coraline and last year’s amazing ParaNorman. Well, it looks like the two companies are coming together again for a third collaboration with The Boxtrolls.
