Walt Disney Studios to Host NYCC Panel to Discuss ‘Big Hero 6’ and ‘Tomorrowland’

The Walt Disney Studios, which was conspicuously absent from San Diego Comic-Con this summer, is going to be presenting at New York Comic Con this year instead. On the schedule for Thursday, October 9th is a presentation which will highlight two upcoming films: Walt Disney Animation Studios’ new feature Big Hero 6 and Disney’s live-action sci-fi pic Tomorrowland.
2D Animation Not Dead at Disney
At the ‘Art of Big Hero 6‘ panel held recently at San Diego Comic-Con, new footage from the upcoming Walt Disney Animation Studios film was shown to the enthusiastic crowd in attendance. It was also confirmed during the presentation that 2D animation is truly not dead at Disney.

Chris Williams and Roy Conli Join ‘Big Hero 6’ Team
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Bolt co-director and Disney story guy Chris Williams has been named as co-director of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming feature Big Hero 6. Williams will share directorial responsibilities with Don Hall on the project. Also assigned to the film now is producer Roy Conli, the producer of Disney’s 2010 hit film Tangled. It’s unclear whether producer Kristina Reed is still attached to the project or not. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
