Pixar Animation Studios has released another gorgeous trailer for their upcoming animated feature The Good Dinosaur. And this time, we get to hear the dinosaurs talk!
We love this beautiful new trailer for Pixar Animation Studios’ upcoming feature film The Good Dinosaur.
While much publicity is currently being devoted to Pixar Animation Studios’ upcoming animated feature Inside Out opening on June 19th, don’t forget that we will be getting two films from Pixar this year–The Good Dinosaur is scheduled to open on November 25th, 2015. Playing in front of The Good Dinosaur is the newly announced short Sanjay’s Super Team. The short will make its official debut at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival in Annecy, France.
Do you remember where you were when you heard the news that The Good Dinosaur was being pushed to 2015, leaving a gigantic Pixar shaped void in your 2014 calendar? It was an incremental realization for me.
“Okay, it’s being reworked, I thought, that’s fine…but then what movie are they going to fast-track for 2014? (Cue Homer Simpson’s brain explaining reality to him.) No movie from Pixar at all?!? @#&*%!”
Like a spoiled brat, this animation company has got me so expectant for their annual masterpieces, I all but threw myself on the floor in an Angelica Pickles-worthy tantrum (forgive the Rugrats reference, but I’m lamenting the loss of Christine Cavanaugh). So, now that we made it through the year without a Pixar movie and look forward to the prospect of TWO films for 2015, a little reflection and contemplation seems appropriate.
Since 1914 when Winsor McKay introduced the world to his magnificent Gertie the Dinosaur, practically every animation company has followed suit, trying to bring to life the prehistoric pets. We got wind of Pixar’s project, The Good Dinosaur, at D23 in 2011, but received an icy blow last year when it was announced the film, scheduled for theater release May 2014, would be postponed until late 2015.
As much as we all like to look at cartoons as being exempt from the fetters of adult concerns, animation is a business and sometimes businesses have to trim their costs in order to stay solvent. According to the executives from Disney who released the statement about the “small reduction in staffing levels” at Pixar, the simple reality is that the postponement of The Good Dinosaur to 2015 means income will not sustain the staff levels Pixar was operating with.
Bleeding Cool has published a new teaser poster for Pixar Animation Studios’ 2015 feature The Good Dinosaur. The poster, which is watermarked with the random Argentinean movie poster site “JPosters.com.ar” definitely has a Pixar look and feel to it. Whether it’s truly legitimate or not is anyone’s guess (we trust Bleeding Cool, but are unsure about JPosters.com.ar).
Recently we wrote about how Pixar had pulled director Bob Peterson off of their forthcoming film, The Good Dinosaur. Now comes news that the film (originally set for May 30, 2014) has been pushed to November 25th, 2015, the date Andrew Stanton’s Finding Dory was set to open on. That film will now open in the summer of 2016.
We’ve read on the excellent (and well-sourced) Blue Sky Disney blog that Bob Peterson is no longer the director of Pixar’s feature film The Good Dinosaur.
