This year’s Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) held in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, just completed another successful event full of screenings, lectures, and networking along with an animated feature and short film competition. Held September 17-21, 2014, the OIAF is one of the largest animation festivals in North America. Over 28,000 attended the this year’s festival.
Walt Disney Records has begun rolling out their newly created line of collectible CDs entitled Walt Disney Records The Legacy Collection. Starting first with Disney’s The Lion King, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, 15 new CD sets of classic Disney film and theme park music have been announced to be released through 2015 with hopefully more to be announced in the future.

The Walt Disney Studios along with Cinemark Theatres are bringing two Disney animated classics to the big screen in select markets over Presidents’ Day weekend. The recent “Diamond Edition” titles The Little Mermaidand The Jungle Book will be shown on the big screen at a discounted price of $5.00 per ticket per film.

It has created an event called The Little Mermaid – Second Screen Live where you are actually encouraged to bring your Apple iPad to the movie theater and then watch the movie while interacting with live streaming content on your iPad.
