DreamWorks and Hasbro Ink Major Toy Deal

DreamWorks Animation and Hasbro have signed an agreement to make games and toys based on DreamWorks’ upcoming animated features B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations and Trolls. According to Animation World Network, Hasbro will create products across their major toy categories supporting both films. B.O.O. is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 5, 2015 and Trolls is scheduled for November 4, 2016.

Fox Announces Release Dates Through 2018

20th Century Fox (which we believe is still the name of the film division of the newly renamed 21st Century Fox, the entertainment group spinoff of News Corp.) has announced release dates for all of its film slate through 2018. 20th Century Fox is home to Fox Animation Studios and Blue Sky Studios and is now the exclusive distributor for films from DreamWorks Animation.

‘Trolls’ Finds a Creative Team

The upcoming re-introduction of the once popular Trolls to pop culture is picking up steam as DreamWorks Animation has tapped Mike Mitchell (Shrek Forever After) to direct the animated feature film which is expected to hit theaters in November of 2016. Joining Mitchell is award-winning veteran TV writer Erica Rivinoja (South Park, Up All Night) and the project will be produced by Shrek Forever After‘s Gina Shay, a DWA stalwart.
