Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have announced that a new Justice League animated series is in development that is being created exclusively for the Machinima video entertainment network. The series entitled Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles is currently in production and will be released in 2015.
The sophomore season of Warner Bros.’ animated series Batman: The Brave and the Bold has arrived on Blu-ray Disc. All 26 episodes are included on the two disc set and are presented in HD widescreen in the correct aspect ratio as the creative team intended.
Since The Hobbit films have a tremendous amount of VFX and CG animation in them, we occasionally discuss them on our site. The latest news to come from the film’s production team is a new title for the third and final chapter in the series. Instead of The Hobbit: There and Back Again as previously announced, it’s now going to be called The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, DC Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Animation pulled out all of the stops at WonderCon in Anaheim, CA, over the weekend with the debut of their new film Son of Batman, the 20th film in the ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original Movies.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is proudly releasing the 20th DC Universe Animated Original Movie, Son of Batman, on April 18th at WonderCon in Anaheim. The studio has also released another clip to accompany the trailer from January. The action in the new clip is definitely exciting, as we see Batman fight Killer Croc. Son of Batman is an adaptation of the comic story arc called “Batman and Son” from 2006 in which Batman discovers that he is the father of Talia Al Ghul’s son, Damian.
Remember in 2012 when that really awesome Harry Potter Wizards Collection came out in that sweet chest thing with 31 discs, that crazy epic behind-the-scenes documentary and a bunch of cool add-ons like the horcrux locket and a cloth map? Remember how you felt when you saw that it was priced at 500 American dollars? (you sure that’s not in knuts?) Yeah, it hurt. But they’re softening the blow a bit by releasing the Harry Potter Hogwarts Collection in about a month (available for order now on Amazon) at the slightly more feasible price tag of $250.
While it’s not necessarily considered an animated feature, New Line Cinema and MGM’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug probably has more animation in it than most films do. The monster hit film and second in Peter Jackson’s ambitious (and very long) TheHobbit trilogy is coming to Blu-ray on April 8th and is going to be available in lots of different packaging.
