Dreamworks Animation announced that new episodes of its popular DreamWorks Dragons series will debut and play exclusively worldwide on Netflix beginning in the spring of 2015. The series currently plays on Cartoon Network in the U.S.A.

DreamWorks Dragons takes place during the time period between the first How to Train Your Dragon feature film and its upcoming sequel, How to Train Your Dragon 2, which opens in U.S. theaters on June 13th.

Cindy Holland, vice-president of original content at Netflix, said:

“We are happy to be adding ‘Dragons’ to our growing slate of original series for kids. This is one of DreamWorks Animation’s most beloved set of characters and we know that kids and families will be enjoying them for years to come.”

The show will join Netflix’s other original series from DreamWorks Animation, including Turbo FAST (currently showing), King Julien, Puss in Boots, and Veggie Tales in the House (all coming later in 2014).
