Look! Up in the sky! It’s a MINION!

Despicable Me 2

If you happen to look up and see a huge Minion floating in the sky, don’t be alarmed.
It’s not the evil super-villian, Gru, pulling off some new diabolical scheme, it’s just
the Despicablimp, the latest marketing effort for the upcoming animated sequel
Despicable Me 2, from Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment.

The Despicablimp (it helps to say it out loud), is a A-150 airship that launched on
March 23 at the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and will own the skies over
the United States for the next few months leading up to the summer premiere of the
highly anticipated sequel. The 165-foot long Despicablimp will travel over 20,000
miles and is scheduled to hit most major cities from coast to coast.

Fans can follow the Mighty Minion at www.despicablimp.com and see the schedule
of stops and in which cities the Despicablimp will hover above. Also, fans can win
prizes, including a grand prize trip to the red carpet premiere of Despicable Me 2 by
following the Despicablimp on twitter and posting pics of the airship on Flickr and
Instagram and using the hashtag #despicablimp.

Despicable Me 2 opens nationwide on July 3rd and features the voices of Steve
Carell, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, and Russell Brand, and is directed by Chris
Renaud and Pierre Coffin, based off a story by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio.
