The third theatrical trailer was released this week for Rovio Entertainment’s upcoming animated feature The Angry Birds Movie.
And here’s the latest official synopsis:
In the 3D animated comedy, The Angry Birds Movie, we’ll finally find out why the birds are so angry. The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.
The voice cast also includes Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key, Ike Barinholtz, Bill Hader, and Peter Dinklage. There’s new music in the film from Blake Shelton, Demi Lovato, Charli XCX, Steve Aoki, and Matoma. Now let’s just hope the story and animation are good.
Directed by Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly, The Angry Birds Movie opens in U.S. theaters in 3D on May 20th.
