Watch This: Opening Sequence for Disney’s New Series ‘Wander Over Yonder’

WANDER, SYLVIA

Craig McCracken, one of my favorite TV animation directors and the guy responsible for such great shows as The Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, has a new series set to debut this month on Disney Channel.

Wander Over Yonder tells the tales of Wander, “an overly optimistic intergalactic traveler who, along with his loyal but bullish steed Sylvia, goes from planet to planet helping people to live free and have fun, all against the evil reign of Lord Hater and his army of Watchdogs.”

Disney Channel recently released this sneak peek of the opening credits to the series, check it out…

Watch closely, too–the 41-second sequence has 62 unique backgrounds. The opening song is written and performed by Two Man Gentleman. Andy Bean, a member of the band, is also the music composer for the series.

Wander Over Yonder stars the vocal talent of Jack McBrayer as Wander, April Winchell as Sylvia (Wander’s stallion and best friend), Tom Kenny as Commander Peepers and Keith Ferguson as evil villain Lord Hater. Series guest stars include James Marsden, Aziz Ansari and Edie McClurg among others.

The show will premiere on Friday, August 16 on Disney Channel. It follows the premiere of the highly anticipated Disney/Marvel cross-over special Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel. Wander Over Yonder will begin its regular run on Disney Channel on Friday, September 13. Check your local listings!
