Review: Disney Animation’s Beautiful ‘Short Films Collection’ Is a Must-Own for Fans

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ new Short Films Collection is truly a stunner. The collection, which is now available on Digital HD platforms and will be available on Blu-ray August 18th, includes 12 of the studios’ animated short films made between the years 2000–2015. While some shorts are fairly new and have been recently seen in theaters, other titles are older and more obscure. Overall, it’s just great to have all of these beloved shorts in one combined and winsome collection.

DreamWorks Animation’s new and original Netflix series DINOTRUX breaks new ground for the studio. It’s their first animated series that isn’t based on one of their existing film series. Watch This: Chris Farley as ‘Shrek’

Although it’s hard to believe, comedian Mike Myers was not the original choice for the lead voice of DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek character. Before his untimely death in 1997, comedian Chris Farley was cast to voice the green ogre. Recently, a Shrek story reel with Chris Farley’s voice, along with Eddie Murphy’s voice as Donkey, has surfaced.

Top Ten Most Fascinating Animated Characters: Number 3

Sure, there have been lots of stories written and films made about characters dreaming the impossible dream—longing to do something with their lives beyond their “directive,” (to quote our last fascinating character’s film) but the magic of the third most fascinating animated character on my list is that he is following his directive; he is using what he has (amazing sense of smell and taste) to its full potential. Oh, and also that he is a rat who loves to cook.
