After Warner Bros. Animation’s CG-animated TV series Beware the Batmanwas abruptly pulled from its Cartoon Network time slot mid-season last October (only 11 episodes aired), many wondered what would happen to the rest of the season and to the show. IGN is reporting that the remainder of season one (and the series) will be burned off this summer on CN’s Adult Swim during its Toonami programming block.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, DC Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Animation pulled out all of the stops at WonderCon in Anaheim, CA, over the weekend with the debut of their new film Son of Batman, the 20th film in the ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original Movies.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is proudly releasing the 20th DC Universe Animated Original Movie, Son of Batman, on April 18th at WonderCon in Anaheim. The studio has also released another clip to accompany the trailer from January. The action in the new clip is definitely exciting, as we see Batman fight Killer Croc. Son of Batman is an adaptation of the comic story arc called “Batman and Son” from 2006 in which Batman discovers that he is the father of Talia Al Ghul’s son, Damian.
Although a major storm is affecting the eastern U.S. tonight, it’s not enough to withstand the Justice League! The premiere scheduled for this evening (Tuesday, January 21st) of Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s new animated film Justice League: War is still happening as scheduled. If you’re lucky enough to have received a ticket for the premiere at The Paley Center for Media in New York City, make sure to give yourself some extra time and to dress warmly.
Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment have been cranking out some compelling animated films for the home entertainment market. Coming in spring 2014 is the latest DC Universe Animated Original Movie entitled Son of Batman.
Over the weekend, Geoff Johns, the Chief Creative Officer at DC Comics, as well as the writer of Justice League and Green Lantern, revealed on his twitter account that Aquaman, a character he wrote before the old DC Universe ended in September of 2011, would get his own animated feature.
